Private View invite 20th July (London Group show)

Your Personal invite to; Phil Barrington at the ‘Art in Mind’ Group Show

“Phil Barrington brings six new framed Cracktown v2.0 works to the Brick Lane Gallery in London in July 2011. If you are free, please do come along to the Wednesday 20th July Opening Night (from 6pm) – as the private view of the Brick Lane ‘Artist in Mind’ group show promises to be VERY exciting indeed.

The work displayed here at the Brick Lane Gallery details a long process personally undertaken by myself for each image. From initial concept to location scouting, from the procurement of suitable models to the actual shoot and subsequent printing process, to distressing each photograph with a range of fluids, paints and scratching, a typical framed gallery image can take up to a year to complete, if not longer.”

This exhibition trailer can be found here.

Px3 Prix de la Photographie Paris

I’m very pleased to announce that my work “My Life Amongst The Metal Trees” has been chosen as part of the judges’ official selection for the upcoming ‘Px3 Prix de la Photographie Paris‘ competition, “Europe’s biggest and most prestigious photography competition”. I couldn’t have done it without all your support here on this blog, my facebook page and my great email contacts, so thank you kindly (the absinthe is on me when I see you next).

The voting process seems a bit of a faff to me, but if anyone has spare time and would REALLY like to vote for me,… It’d bring a smile to my chops;

1. Register a name/email/password at; http://www.px3.fr/submit/vote/voter.php

2. Once logged in, copy/paste the following link into your browser address bar (my work is at the top of the link’s page) and simply click vote!;

http://www.px3.fr/submit/vote/juryList.php?Start=60&cat=Fine+Art&sub=Nudes&exp=student&Ctype=PX3+2011&Cnum=comp-2

Many thanks again!!
