Art Photography Now – An Exhibition Collected & Curated by Phil Barrington

[APN] – Art Photography Now – A Fine Art Photography Exhibition
This exciting and fascinating exhibition contains a variety of photographic art works made by young local people aged 13 – 19, as part of the Norfolk County Council Arts Award scheme, the results from a course which ran for 6 weeks over the summer of 2013 by myself.
The subject matters fit into a particular theme for each of the three rooms of the gallery, ‘Fear’, ‘Emotion’ and ‘My Life’; works by young people that are at times brave, heartbreaking, thought-provoking, insightful and inspiring.
This exhibition of modern art photography of all creative styles shocks, disturbs, challenges and enlightens you with the candid, raw and personal visions of young people exploring their lives and feelings through the use of any kind of camera in their possession, without rules, restrain, nor any real regard for convention or tradition.
Some photographic artworks in the gallery exhibition explore real-world horrors, including a haunting black and white photographic work taken of Auschwitzby young local artist Rachel McGlone (see below photograph of the artist with the work, a stunning abstract macro exploration of fear by the very talented Heidi White, amongst many other works by very creative young artists.  PB.
